Rules and Regulations if Boys/Girls Hostel

The following rules will be adhered to by all the students (Boys/Girls) residing in the hostel. Violation of these rules will make students liable for disciplinary action including expulsion from the hostel.

1. Hostellers are expected to display acceptable form of behaviour, maintain discipline and decorum in the hostel complex.
2. A student once admitted in the hostel continues to be a hostel inmate throughout the year. He/She has to pay the room rent for the full academic session. The amount will be forfeited if the inmate decides to leave the hostel mid-session.
3. Every student should stay in the accommodation allotted to him/her by the Warden/Matron concerned. He / She will not be allowed to change the accommodation once allotted.
4. A student should check the fittings in his/her room at the time of occupation. If there is any deficiency or inadequacy. it should be brought to the notice of the hostel staff. He/she shall be responsible for the fittings and keep them intact at the time of handing over charge of the room when he/she leaves the hostel.
5. Students will be personally and collectively responsible for any loss or damage to furniture, fittings or any other common facilities in the hostel. All electrical appliances including fans and tube lights must be switched off when not needed.
6. Cooking, making tea etc. is not allowed in the hostel rooms.
7. Common hostel furniture must not be moved without the permission of the Warden.
8. Cleanliness of the room is to be maintained by the student himself/herself.
9. Allthe girl students will remain present at the time of Roll Call.
10. Electricity Meters are installed at the entrance of each room. The number of minimum electricity units exempted from extra charges are 70 units per student. The rest of the units will be charged from the students at the prevailing rates. Use of electrical appliances like heaters, induction plates etc. in the hostel rooms is prohibited.
11. A student himself/herself is responsible for all his/her belongings. The college will not be responsible for any loss incurred due to his/her negligence or any other reason whatsoever. Girl students are not allowed to remain outside the hostel Premises after 6 p.m. (9.30 p.m. for boy students).
12. Visitors are not permitted to stay in the hostels without permission of warden and under no circumstances for more than two days.
13. Girl students shall not leave the hostel for out-of station visits without prior written permission of the Warden / the concerned.
    Matron. Absence from hostel without permission will be viewed seriously and a disciplinary action will be taken.
14. A student shall not hand over the keys of his/her room to any other student/person except the warden/ matron of the hostel.
15. The Warden/matron or a staff member of the institute nominated by the Secretary, Akal Council Can inspect the room of any student at any time.
16. Ragging Is strictly prohibited.
17. Students are not allowed to keep firearms and sharp edged weapons etc. in their possession in the hostel.
18. Consumption of Intoxicants and smoking are strictly prohibited in the hostel and campus.
